Committee of management
Monash Caulfield Child Care Centre is governed by a committee of dedicated and passionate parent volunteers.
The committee has both officers (President, Treasurer, and Secretary) and general members. New committee members usually join and officer positions are elected at our annual general meeting, held around November each year.
The committee is the highest level of management for the association (the centre's legal form) and is the approved provider for the centre.
The overall role of the committee is in guiding the strategic direction of the centre and overseeing its operations. Actual daily operations are handled by the staff of the centre, led by the director.
MCCC is led by the committee because we value the relationships between all members of our community and believe the best care is provided when community members are involved in decision making.
Maintaining this organisational form depends on the generous efforts of our parent volunteers.
Being part of the committee is a great way to get involved with and contribute to the running of the centre. If you would like more information about joining the Committee, please contact us.
Positions
President
The president chairs meetings and acts as the public representative of the committee at events and in its communications. The President should be committed to the vision of Monash Caulfield Child Care Centre and interested in representing the overall interests of the families of MCCC.
Treasurer
The treasurer is responsible for overseeing the financial affairs of the association. The staff of the centre manage its daily accounting and report to the treasurer, who monitors those operations and communicates the financial information to the broader committee.
Secretary
The secretary is responsible for making and keeping records of committee activities, including its meetings. The secretary organises the committee meetings and tallies votes on motions. The secretary is also responsible for informing the community about committee activities.
