Kindergarten
MCCC provides a Victorian State Government funded 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten program, integrated within a mixed aged group setting of 3 to 5-year-old children. Our kindergarten program is run by an Early Childhood Teacher registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
“Children's Learning is ongoing and each child will progress towards the outcomes in different and equally meaningful ways. Learning is not always predictable and linear. Educators plan with each child and the outcomes in mind.” EYLF
Kinder at MCCC
Our kindergarten program provides access to a high-quality play based learning program that is developed to support children's strengths and interests. The kindergarten program is integrated within the long day care setting so children receive extended hours and exposure to the program. The program caters for each child’s individual learning style, interests, abilities and emerging independence skills.
The kindergarten learning program includes incursions, regular outings and a wide variety of experiences and activities involving art, language, maths and science. We celebrate the diversity of cultures in our centre's community through the inclusion of different languages, cooking experiences and cultural celebrations in the learning program. The program's gardening, environmental and recycling activities reflect our centre's commitment to sustainability.
In Terms 3 and 4 the 4-year-old kindergarten program focuses on preparing children for school and supporting them with "school ready" skills. Our School Ready Parent Information evenings provide opportunities for parents to meet with local school representatives, talk with experts about how to know when your child is ready for school and assist you and your child to make a smooth and supported transition to school.
MCCC provides priority of access to families wishing to enrol children in the 3 and 4-year-old Kindergarten Program.
